Well, try to get Spassky v. Fischer exhibited in an art museum! Look, I adore chess. I used to play it pretty seriously. I appreciate its aesthertics. Buts rt is what you can get aritists and critics to call art. And chess doesn't qualify. Sorry. jks

Certainly. It is probably one of the purest and elitist art forms
possible. You can pursue aesthetic objectives in chess by playing in a
certain style - but only few can discern those values. Ditto for the
design of chess board and pieces.
