[lbo-talk] gay is the new black

NPR ran a really weird story a few days ago talking about "with the
exception of Federal bench appointments, the Bush White House has been so
friendly to gay political groups that they are in danger of alienating their
Christian Coalition base." Blathering on about Log Cabin Republicans getting
invited to the WH, etc.

Seems to me the WH is cleverly and diabolically attempting to split a key
opposition constituency while taking their own core for granted. But then
again, that strategy is working great for the Democrats. :-)
