Are they becoming hipper? >>
Flash is hip? I missed that.
What does it mean? That they are probably pissing away thousands--tens of thousands?--on keeping (I would guess) temporarily-unemployed campaign workers moonlighting as programmers up on their rent payments?
The RNC should love this thing. It fails on all levels as political propaganda. Too long, fractured message, not even funny. And whatever message gets through is the same one they've been sending out for the last 15 years, at least--those bad Republicans are gonna get our (choose one of four). They ever gonna notice it's happened already?
Whom is this directed to? The massive bored liberal web designer bloc? *Anything* web-based (yes, even now, when we're "all" wired) has a built-in bias against workers and the poor. And anything beyond e-mail and none-too-frilly web sites will compound that bias--definitely including processor hogs like Flash.
And while their gigabyte-snarfing geeks are having their funsies, the national committee of the supposed party of pro-choice feminists is still sending my wife "give-us-money!" form letters addressed with *my* last name (she never changed hers--is this, like, supposed to be really outre in 2003?), guaranteeing speedy dispatch to the recycling bag. Which means they don't cross-reference their lists with voting lists, or--say it ain't so--they patch together last names of same-address male-female pairs, or--hell, they *can't* be--they rely on error-filled commercial lists rather than regularly updating the publicly-available voter data that is merely the key to winning an election. Meanwhile, Rove has his hotshots cranking out XML-based and other data-copulating doodads so that he can create, oh, a list identifying every Log Cabin NRA-member voter with an income over $75,000 and a navel that's an outie, or whatever the hell he feels like...
