Sun. Dec. 17 -- Political Correctness is intellectual AIDS. Everything it
touches it sickens and eventually kills. On America's college campuses it
has diminished freedom of speech, warped curricula, politicized grading and
replaced intellectual integrity with vapid sloganeering. In classroom after
classroom, professors offer an ideological rant, which students are
compelled to regurgitate to get a grade: the vomit returns to the dog.
These
places--and they are many--are no longer universities, but small,
ivy-covered North Koreas.
Just what is Political Correctness? The "Politically Correct" people on
your
campus really, really don't want you to know the answer to that question.
Why? Because Political Correctness is nothing less than Marxism translated
from economic into cultural terms.
The parallels are obvious. First, both classical, economic Marxism and the
Cultural Marxism that is Political Correctness are totalitarian ideologies.
Both insist on "truths" that are contrary to human nature and experience.
Contrary to economic Marxism, there is no such thing as a "classless
society," and economic incentives matter. Contrary to Political
Correctness,
men and women are different, as are their natural roles in society; races
and ethnic groups have specific characteristics; and homosexuality is
abnormal. Since the only way people will accept the ideologues' "truths" is
if they are forced to, they will be forced--by the full power of the state,
if the Marxists of either stripe can control it.
The second parallel is that both classical Marxism and Cultural Marxism
have
single-factor explanations of history. Classical Marxism argues that all
history was determined by ownership of the means of production. The
Politically Correct Cultural Marxists say that history is explained by
which
groups--defined by sex, race and sexual normality or abnormality--have
power
over which other groups.
The third parallel is that both varieties of Marxism declare certain groups
virtuous and other evil a priori, without regard for the actual behavior of
individuals. Thus economic Marxism defined workers and peasants as good and
the middle class as evil, and Cultural Marxism defines blacks, Hispanics,
Feminist women, homosexuals and some other minorities as virtuous and white
men as evil. Political Correctness does not recognize the existence of
non-Feminist women and defines blacks who reject its ideology as whites.
The fourth parallel is in means: expropriation. Economic Marxists
expropriated the property of the middle and upper classes and gave it to
the
state. Cultural Marxists, on campuses and in government, lay penalties on
white men and give privileges to the groups they favor. Affirmative action
is an example of this kind of expropriation.
Finally, both types of Marxism employ a method of analysis guaranteed to
show the correctness of their ideology in every situation. For classical
Marxists, the method is Marxist economics. For Cultural Marxists, the
method
is linguistic: deconstruction. Deconstruction first removes all meaning
from
"texts," then inserts new meaning: one way or another, the text illustrates
the oppression of women, blacks, homosexuals etc. by white men and Western
culture. The intended meaning of the author is irrelevant.
These parallels are not coincidental. They exist because the Cultural
Marxism of Political Correctness is in fact derived from classical,
economic
Marxism, largely through the work of the Frankfurt School. Following World
War I, European Marxists faced a difficult question: why did the
proletariat
throughout Europe not rise in revolution and establish a new, Marxist
order,
as their ideology said it would? Two prominent Marxist thinkers, Antonio
Gramsci in Italy and Georg Lukacs in Hungary, came up with an answer:
Western culture. Western culture so blinded the workers to their true,
"class" interests that they could not act on them. So before socialism
could
come to power, Western culture had to be destroyed. Lukacs in 1919 posed
the
question, "Who will save us from Western civilization?" As Deputy Commissar
for Culture in the Bolshevik Bela Kun government in Hungary that same year,
the first thing he did was introduce sex education into Hungarian schools.
In 1923, Lukacs and a group of German Marxist intellectuals founded a
"think
tank" intended to translate Marxism from economic into cultural terms, the
Institute for Social Research at Frankfurt University. The Institute
quickly
became known as the Frankfurt School. In 1933, when the National Socialists
came to power in Germany, the Frankfurt School moved to New York City.
There, its key figures--Theodor Adano, Erich Fromm and Wilhelm
Reich--developed critical theory," a crossing of Mark with Freud that
labeled the key components of Western culture "prejudice," i.e., a
psychological disease. The "critical theorists" argues that to eliminate
"prejudice," Christianity, capitalism and the traditional "patriarchal"
family all had to be destroyed.
The connection between the Frankfurt School and the student rebellion of
the
1960s was made primarily by a key Frankfurt School member, Herbert
Marcuse--the man who in the '60s coined the phrase, "Make love, not war."
Marcuse's books "Eros" and "Civilization" argued that the tools with which
to destroy Western culture were, in effect, sex, drugs and rock 'n roll. He
popularized the Frankfurt School's ideas in ways the '60s student radicals
could understand and absorb, and we now know his work Political
Correctness.

In todays's fast paced, politically-corect society you have to go along to get along, and if you choose a higher road you will quickly be branded an outcast, even a fascist. you will be a victim of the forces of cultural communism which now dominates Western culture. This alien and parasitic force is attacking the heart, soul and mind of all that is our culture. Its goal is the total corruption and destruction of the West's Christian-based civilization. Social critic William Lind points out that "if a man from America of the 1950s were suddenly introduced into America in the 1990's, he would hardly recognize it as the same country. He wouldbe in immediate danger of getting mugged, carjacked or worse, because he would not have learned to live in constant fear." But wait. you might think that communism is dead. The old Soviet Empire has crumbled and the former captive nations now enjoy the fresh air of freedom. Look at America-the good life is everywhere, the economy is booming, Americans are enjoying the technology revolution. To remind them of cultural disintegration or a takeover of our society by an alien menace would evoke laughter from them no end. The solution to these people is to deny any degeneracy, disintegration or flaws in our culture by moving away from it-escaping to the suburbs or taking pleasure-filled vacations. When they awake they sadly disover that this monster is also in their fancier neighborhoods, schools, churches, clubs shopping malls, political institutions and the workplace itself. The battle for the mind of America, and with it Western culture, is everywhere and in full swing, but few courageous voices like The SPOTLIGHT, Liberty Lobby, our Board of Policy members and subscribers dare speak out about it and propose action to counteract it. We must never forget that these evil change agents plan not to conquer us with military might, but by a war against our mind-a war on what and how we think and the religious and political values we deeply cherish. Cultural communism-known popularly as "political correctness"-is so pervasive that after a while its influence becomes accepted and normal, very natural. The institutions that it corrupts stay corrupted because no one wishes to oppose this alien force for fear of being out of step. The media, be it electronic, plays a powerful leading role as a change agent of our culture. Controlled by mattoidal plutocrats, these outlets, which are allegedly for cultural enhancement, are doing a good job of destroying our culture. High on the agenda of the change agents is a call for tolerance toward the abnormal element in our society-specifically homosexuals. This group, only about 2% of the population, is clearly supported by the highly organized culture distorters in America, specifically the Anti-defamation league (ADL), part of the politically subversive Zionist movement which controls the American media. The power wielded by advertising agencies is legend, deciding which television and radio programs corporate America will sponsor and in which publications they will advertise. Advertising is the lifeblood of all publications, radio and TV. (Public radio and TV have corporate sponsors, in addition to the U.S. taxpayers.) A big power in ad agencies are these same power hungry people. Take a look at your daily newspapers in your home town and note the news stories that glorify the homosexual element. They are noted for pormoting their agenda in the schools, corrupting the minds of the young , urging them to practice their aberrant lifestyle with impunity all the while telling children that it is perfectly normal to do so. Reason and free will are so dulled in the children that they easily slide into the perverted lifestyle. PERMEATES THE SCHOOLS The schools are so dominated by forces outside the control of the people that parents are denied any say whatsoever in this basic cultural concern. Those who do complain are cited as unfit parents and stand to lose their children. This powerful outside control is often Big Brother. In reality it is the work of alien culture destroyers with a massive agenda-the destruction of Western civilization. The origin of this cultural destruction of the West reaches back to an alien Marxist clique in Germany. It is a group of diabolical haters of everything the West stands for. As explained in a SPOTLIGHT editorial (reprinted in the special report Cultural Communism, the Disintegration of America), they hate Christianity, and they also despise "dead white, men" such as Shakespeare, Goethe, Rembrandt, Copernicus, Marconi and the Wright brothers, among others. The new cultural icons for the West are Karl Marx and his advocates from the so-called Frankfort School and its predecessors such as Antonio Gramsci (Italian communist who wrote The New Order), Herbert Marcuse (who fled Germany for America in 1934), Gyorgy Lukacs (Hungarian communist, critic and writer), Felix Weil (millionaire founder of the Frankfort School), and other members of that school have done serious damage as well. American radical feminist Bette Friedan was influenced by Freudian psychologist Erich Fromm, whose ideas stem from the school. Today the feminization of America is all pervasive, from the White House to the court house, from the military in the Pentagon to the fuzzy thinking military experts in academe. The big foundations, big universities, big banks and big corporations are for the most part controlled by interlocking directorates consisting of leaders from among the cultural communists like global investor and foreign born George Soros- wrecker of governments and economies and a member of the Rockefeller- controlled Council on Foreign Relations. But there is hope, Champions of freedom like Charlton Heston have taken on the cultural communists. Heston, president of the National Rifle Association and a staunch advocate of our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms, in an address at the Harvard Law School called for equal rights under the Constitution for all and special rights for none. He deplored the glorification of political and cultural correctness and urged all t stand up for personal freedom. He noted that people defending their just rights must be prepared to die for them if necessary. Liberty Lobby, the premier citizens' lobby on Capitol Hill in Washington, offers an action agenda to right the wrongs in America. The agenda is stated. Some 112 positions have been taken by our Board of Policy. All of them call for action. Unlike certain purely "educational" organizations, Liberty Lobby believes that "Education without action availeth naught."
