Dear Activists:

CampusTruth.org has been conducting a blatant anti-Palestinian propaganda campaign nationwide, placing ads in campus newspapers; recently, its half-page advertisements were placed in the _Lantern_, the student newspaper of the Ohio State University. If you have not seen the CampusTruth.org ads, please go to <http://www.campustruth.org/images/image_sources.gif>, <http://campustruth.org/content/left_main.html>, <http://www.campustruth.org/images/image_join.jpg>, <http://www.campustruth.org/images/image_101.jpg>, and see them for yourself.

The dehumanizing ideas promoted by the CampusTruth.org propaganda campaign are (1) that suicide bombers kill and maim Israelis to bring financial and other benefits to their families, (2) that Israelis mourned the victims of 9.11 terrorism, but Palestinians celebrated it, (3) that Palestinian children, unlike Jewish-Israeli children, worship violence, and (4) that Palestinian terrorists murder Arab-Israeli, Jewish-Israeli, and American students because they hate cross-cultural friendship. All its ads contain a slogan: "There Are Two Sides to Every Story, But Only One Truth." CampusTruth.org's twisted idea of "truth," however, demonizes Palestinians, including Palestinian children, by creating images designed to represent Palestinians as a people who glorify violence, rejoice in murder, profit from death, and hate and destroy any sign of friendly co-existence of Arabs, Jews, and Americans -- in short, CampusTruth.org markets the lie that Palestinians are inhuman. Needless to say, the ads have nothing to say about the Israeli government's occupation of the West Bank and Gaza, its illegal settlement construction, its demolition of Palestinian homes, its killing and maiming of Palestinian civilians -- much less its expulsion of Palestinians in 1948, its continuing discrimination against Palestinian-Israelis, its refusal to allow Palestinian refugees to return to their homes, and its commitment to Jewish supremacy. It goes without saying that the ads also remain silent about the work of courageous Jews -- including the officers and soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces who refused to serve in the occupied territories (Cf. <http://www.refusersolidarity.net/default.asp>) -- in Israel, the USA, and elsewhere fighting against the occupation and the oppression of Palestinians.

I ask you to write letters to the _Lantern_, protest CampusTruth.org's propaganda, and tell the truth about the occupation and Palestinian struggles against it (in your letter, please take care not to give the other side any opportunity to portray us as censors). Here's info about "letters policy" of the _Lantern_:

***** Send letters to the editor of the _Lantern_ to lantern at osu.edu, or fax to the opinion editor at 614-292-5240. In order to be considered for publication, a letter must include the author's name, rank or title, and major (if you are a student). Letters must _not_ exceed 400 words. *****

For your information, CampusTruth.org's ad campaign is funded by "the One Truth Foundation," and the director of the foundation is Marcella Rosen (Cf. <http://www.dailyillini.com/dec02/dec06/opinions/stories/letter02.shtml>). Here's a brief bio of Ms. Rosen:

***** Marcella Rosen has held management positions in advertising, broadcasting and Internet companies. She entered the internet world in 1996, as Executive Vice President, Marketing and Sales for Freemark, an early e-mail company. Subsequently, she was a long term consultant to infobeat.com, among others. She is currently the CEO of Jam.com. Prior to 1996, she was President & CEO of the Network Television Association. From 1978-1993, Executive Vice President and Director of Media Services Worldwide for NW Ayer, with responsibility for $1.2 billion of media (and programming) worldwide, for clients such as General Motors, AT&T and Proctor & Gamble. Ms. Rosen is married to David G. Sacks:

***** David G. Sacks is director and past president of the Seagram Co. as well as past president of UJA/Federation of New York, and Vice President of CJF. A native New Yorker, David and his wife, Marcella Rosen, are both devoted members of the JOI Board. In a recent Sh'ma, a journal of Jewish responsibility, David observed " while some intermarrieds are committed to break with the Jewish community, most express their desire for a continuing sense of connectedness to Judaism and its traditions in a variety of ways. According to the 1990 National Population Survey, about 28% of the children of intermarrieds are raised as Jews. One of our goals ought to be to raise that percentage to something over 50%."

Ms. Rosen and Mr. Sacks obviously have a great deal of wealth on their side to fund their propaganda. Help us counter it by your voice.
