Back in the late 40's editor of, "New Foundations, " a publication of the Young Communist League. New Foundations is one of the hundred or so reprints in the Greenwood Press, "Radical Periodicals in the U.S., " series found in many university libraries. Others include, "Politics, " of Dwight MacDonald, the first ten yrs. of Monthly Review, "Mother Earth, " of Emma Goldman, "Workers Age, " of the Lovestoneites, and "Enquiry, " of then Trotskyist Irving Kristol. Fogel, went on to co-write a cliometric apologia for slavery. Replies by Herbert Gutman and many others.
