Joe was pretty aggressive, with his sneering delivery and threatening glare.
He'd fit in well on Fox.  But, hell, doesn't this stuff go back to Father
Coughlin, at least?

It actually started before Downey.  E.g., Joe Pyne on TV and Long John Nebel

and Barry Farber on radio, but I guess they were all pretty genteel by 
today's standards.
