ROCK stars, known for their grasp of geopolitical matters, are hopping on the appeasement bandwagon. Oasis' Noel Gallagher told a German newspaper: "Whenever there is a conservative, Bible-waving half-wit ruling in the White House, there is war . . . Protests are a bloody waste of time, the war will go ahead anyway." And the Beastie Boys have just posted "In a World Gone Mad," their first new song in five years, on their Web site, criticizing Bush's "mid-life crisis war." Beastie MCA told MTV.com, "You just look at the TV and see this guy who's supposed to be representing us and it just feels ridiculous."
