For Michael Albert to come out with a doozie like that would be completely unforgivable if it were of any consequence. I endured that guy blabbering on for three hours about how opportunistic it was for Leninists to organise the working class to solve problems such as racism; this is sleazier by orders of magnitude.
Why on earth should we support 'our' troops? Sure, let's support the poor bastards suckered into the army - up to a point. But let's make that part of having a society without troops. I venture the conjecture that troops breed wars the way roads breed traffic.
What happened to good old fashioned antimilitarism??? Are we so far gone that anarchists, of all people, have to couch their arguments with proper respects paid to the money roasting death machine?
Time for my chimarrão...three hours of John Howard and Parliamentary debates has fried my brain.
