In praise of the Beeb; Anti-war slogans for the classical music Crowd

One local public radio station has THANKFULLY switched from NPR to the BBC for quite a bit of its war coverage. Advantages of that: reports of big anti-war demonstrations in Greece, Indonesia, London. Plus even if the imbedded reporter really has no clue about anything, they say so more succinctly than Americans in that fabulous British accent.

And local classical music station response: they decided to interrupt regular programming only for matters of urgent local concern, not just interrupt the music for every spasm of propaganda and fearmongering emitted from the current "Bombing for Disarmament" exercise.

This pleasant sanctuary of escapism and respite made me think of several kicky and offbeat topcial slogans.

Brahms, not Bombs!

Music, not Mayhem!

Prokofiev, not Pre-emption!
