Putin's comments to his cabinet were BLISTERING and he called for taking the matter to the UN general Assembly, an approach I have heard from a couple other directions. News also showed Communist ahd LDPR (Vladimir Zhirinovksy's party) deputies in the Duma even more scathing than Putin.
Interesting point of media consolidation: local NBC affiliate has two channels. One is non-stop NBC coverage; the other cuts back and forther between local and other news. Local news reports a blockade of Interstate 5 near Bellingham near the Canadian border. Blockade is 500+ people and state patrol is gathering enough resources to "deal," according to spokesman on TV.
Locally in Seattle, there are plans for seven days of protests. There has been non-stop protester presence at the federal building since last night about the time the bombs started. Today, there is a march that combines marches from the U of W and one of the community colleges. March route has several possible opportunities for blockading either the freeway itself or significant entry routes, but news showed the cops very firmly maneuvering to dissuade any thought of that.
(lest, you think blockading the freeway is some protest over the oil economy, tor some reason blockading the freeway is a distinctly Seattle idiom. Last year even the NAACP did it in a protest over police killings of unarmed black men and the county inquest process.)
