I've been looking thru SFO press. There are references to confrontations between motorists and demonstrators. J says weapons were confiscated (brass knuckles, chains). The papers said makeshift weapons (rocks, etc.) were confiscated, but this is according to police. I saw an article about a cache of molotov cocktails being found somewhere. Again this depends on believing the cops. (I don't.)
On the whole, at worst it sounds like the usual residue of antics by the fringe of the fringe. JR may be right on the facts but he overheated in rhetoric.

I saw a local news clip last night in which a young woman was interviewed. She claimed her father (passenger) was hit by protestors who were jumping all over her car. She showed off an approx. 1 ft. long scratch on the side of her car and stated it was made by a protestor's key. There appeared to be no other damage to the car. I didn't find her particularly credible but that was just my impression given no damage to the car other than the scratch, no father present and she didn't seem particularly incensed, just annoyed at the protestors.
Might this be what Raimondo is referring to?
