Popular Uprising in Basra?

What a coincidence this uprising is beginning just as
British forces are preparing to move into the city. 
All those civilian casualties?  Saddam's fault.

On the other hand, I've noticed how these reports of
civilians backing Saddam against the aggressor alway
occur within potential earshot of the regime.  And
what else are you going to tell white journalists from
the U.S. and Britain?  Maybe the U.S. will be welcomed
as the liberator, after all.  Here come the cheering
Iraqis.....
