I think what I said earlier about this being the new golden age of newspapers is getting truer ever day. All the broadsheets are getting better and better. The sudden turnaround in the Washington Post, which was gungho before the war and had been drifting rightwards for years, and has now published numerous pieces that are detailed and critical, is nothing less than remarkable.

But if you want some decent broadcasting, IMHO the one place to go is the daily 1/2 hour French news show, Le Journal, which broadcasts with English subtitles. If you have cable, it is usually secreted somewhere among the tiny educational stations. To find out when and where it's playing in your area, you can search your listings using http://www.tvguide.com (which is an excellent resource in general for finding when shows are playing or being rebroadcast).

In NYC, it's on daily on channel 25 from 7 to 7:30.
