The real answer is probably that N is too small to draw conclusions. Of those 24 British dead, 16 died before the enemy was engaged -- 14 in helicopter accidents and 2 when their Tornado was shot down by a US missile.

But if N was large enough to draw conclusions, the answer would probably be that the overwhelming majority of British forces have been tied up taking Umm Qasr and Basra, which so far have been the two most dangerous missions.
