anyway, as to nobody liking her singing(part of another comment), I recall the smothers brothers having her on their show back in the 60s and admitting to being fans...this was at a time when they, and their show, was seen as part of a counter-culture , critical of the viet nam war, etc...she appealed to a sort of wholesome americana, rather than any single minded, flag waving audience...which is probably why the smothers, and others, liked her...
and her admirers didn't seem to care that she was "fat"...we've come a long way?
