The "Jewish" thing is something that neocons are saying nowadays to tar people who attack their cabal with antisemitism. The neocons are centrally statist, virulently pro-militaristic, rabidly imperialist reactionaries, descended ideologically from ex-socially liberal or radical selves or ancestors. Thus Perle and Wolfie were Scoop Jackson aides in the 70s -- Scooop being a Democratic Senator from Boeing and a big Vietnam War supporter. They aren't big on economic free-maeket conservatism (unlike, say, Friedman), and not at all on socially repressive religious conservatism. Lucianne Goldberg put it well well she said that the neocons are the people who like to kill people and break things. A lot of them arew Jewish; pro-Zionist policues brought social liberals to support imperialist reaction after the 67 war. But a lot of them aren't. The Straussians are not neocons, btw, they are in their own wierd world. jks

Bennett's not a neocon, and not all neocons (a label which really just means
conservatives who happen to be Jewish) are Straussians.
