Texas GOP leaders have already started to make--yes--deck of cards of the 51 "Chicken D's," as they call them.
The Texas AFL-CIO reports:
"They were surrounded in the hotel by Texas Department of Public Safety officers. Fortunately, the Oklahoma state police, directed by a hospitable governor, Brad Henry, formed an interior circle around them for their protection. (Rumor has it the lawmakers have been invited to go to the Oklahoma Capitol tomorrow by the governor and House speaker.)
"U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay told AP he checked out whether the federal government could send marshals after the representatives and, at least one news outlet reports, Republicans even considered whether the Patriot Act could be used to arrest the lawmakers as terrorists. (Craddick explicitly denied contacting the feds.)"
