IBM to set up new technology design centre in Bangalore

IT major IBM Corporation on Wednesday announced the establishment of a new centre at Bangalore to provide technology design services for advanced chips, cards and systems to companies in India and Asia.
The Centre will co-ordinate and leverage regional engineering, research and technology design services delivery skills from IBM location to design a variety of new electronic gears for customers, a company statement said. With this, IBM's engineering and technology services division is approaching 1000 engineers, it said.
"The Indian centre will enable IBM to leverage a vast Indian IT pool, VLSI and embedded design for the customers," Technology Group Lab director, Uday Shukla said.
