Homeless Chechen families to start receiving compensation in September - 
Minister
MOSCOW. May 28 (Interfax) - The payment of compensation to Chechen residents 
who have lost their homes may begin in September, Russian Minister for 
Chechen Affairs Stanislav Ilyasov said at a meeting hosted by President 
Putin on Wednesday.

   "To solve this problem, purely technical aspects still have to be 
settled," Ilyasov said in reply to questions from the president.

   Chechen civil administration chief Akhmad Kadyrov in turn noted that the 
Chechen government "is expecting a Russian government ordinance on this 
score."

   Estimates show that about 39,000 families in Chechnya require such 
compensation.
