I'm surprised how little fuss has been made about Bloomberg using his 
own money to promote this campaign. He's created a bogus organization 
to promote the plan, and has mailed promotional materials to every 
NYC household. That alone is a good index of how it's a plutocratic, 
not a democratic, idea. Of course, it plays to the usual "person not 
party" idiocy of American politics.
