i used to tend bar years ago where BCI investigators hung out getting drunk night after night. their conversations largely consisted of telling themselves stories about how dangerous their work was.

they need some flat statistics on just how NOT dangerous their jobs are. that's another thing i told those cops: gardeners have the same occupational death rate, 11 per 100,000 year. electricians die on the job more often, as do construction workers, truck drivers, garbage collectors, and fisherman.

and, if i'm not mistaken, most LEOs die in traffic accidents, not from wackos involved in DV incidents.
