Umm, economic collapse began under Gorbachev, not Yeltsin. Shortages and long lines are Gorbachev-era phenomena.
People blame Gorbachev for allowing the collapse of the USSR (very bad) and allowing Yeltsin to become president (very very bad).
How on Earth does somebody not in Russia justify saying the following? How on earth could you possibly know?
