The most amazing thing about public response to this war, and the most hopeful political sign I've seen since the defeat of ERA, is that around 25/30% of the public, even during the height of the war's "triumph," continued to oppose it. That is unprecedented, and should be the main thing in the minds of all those now engaged in building a permanent movement against u.s. involvement abroad.
