In the weekly "Nouvelle Observateur," right after the overthrow of the Kennedy administration, the respected journalist Jean Daniel revealed that he had had a substantial conversation with John Kennedy shortly before the coup. Daniel was about to travel to Cuba, and Kennedy charged him with a private message to Castro to the effect that he, Kennedy, was prepared to negotiate a rapprochement between the US and Cuba. What was accomplished by the liquidation of Kennedy was, at a minimum: -continuation of the US quarantine of Cuba to this moment -prevention of a US withdrawal from Vietnam following a
Buddhist-mediated agreement between the NLF and the
Buddhist South Vietnamese president Duong Van Minh
(himself to be overthrown very shortly after the
overthrow of Kennedy).

^^^^^^^^^ CB: Also, Kennedy had already signed a nuclear test ban treaty with the Soviets just a couple months before, which was pretty much treason to the rightwing at that time. As in the words below, thunderbolt steers all things.
Note Kennedy was replaced by a Democrat - Johnson.
"Thunderbolt steers all things."
