[lbo-talk] labor union membership query

Hi, I'm working on a review of Conrad Black's biography of FDR. Not surprisingly, Black is rather unfriendly to labor unions. For the purposes of my review, it would be useful if I knew 

1) What percentage of the American workforce was unionized in 1932 (the year Roosevelt was elected president).

2) What percentage of the American workforce was unioned in 1945 -- when Roosevelt died.

Also, it anyone has absolute #'s, as well as per centages, that would be helpful.
