It's true this column is ludicrous. But I think he's doing (you should forgive the expression) the lord's work in this column. A world in which conservatives supported gay marriage would be a better world, one in which the center had moved closer to the left. And it's not an accident that Brooks' reasoning is so tortured. It's the only means he's got to get there from the conservative Here.
