This "authority" calls Ray "assassin." His bona fides are adequately described by his phrase "after 20 years!" The fact is that Ray never confessed to the crime. He was tortured and coerced into pleading guilty, but almost immediately withdrew the plea. The Tennessee court refused to allow him to withdraw the plea, denied his every attempt to stand trial, and ultimately murdered him by refusing necessary medical care--at the moment when legal process (and the strong support of the King family) was finally about to win him the right to a trial. I really don't know the best term to describe this Mizrach, that Philion, the other Berlet. Black-baiters?
