Yep. And if anyone doubts that, I suggest mentioning the U-word to the executive staff of these leftish organizations. Somebody once told me that the owners of Ben & Jerry Ice cream were once asked what they would do if their workers wanted to join a union. "We would be very very sad" was the answer.

During the PG War I, I attended a massive anti-war rally of the UCSC students. At the meeting after the rally someone suggested joining the striking Green Giant workers in the neighboring Watsonville. There were no takers - most preferred meaningless protests at a local politician's office.

Several months after that even, a union local engaged in a management-labor dispute at a Posh local restaurant (Coconut Grove) approached the student union to boycott the establishments. To no avail. Almost all of these liberal Third-world embracing do gooders (students and faculty alike) crossed the picket line.
