I was at a local meeting of people organizing for Dean this weekend. Transforming the party was an explicit and widely shared goal. There was serious interest in seizing as many precinct positions as possible within the party and renovating it. Granted, it was largely about escaping "special interests" and such, but it still seemed encouraging.
