From the info in the small snippet provided, they walked out. That's not heckling, nor is it the equivalent of cutting someone's mike. They didn't want to be an audience to Santorum, which plainly is not censorship. It can be a valid and effective form of silent protest, without trampling the bigot's right to speak. I don't see how the two get confused. Do you object to a public commitment to gay rights?
