For those in New York or who listen to WBAI 99.5 FM (wbai.org) on the web:

A two-hour special featuring the words of Yanar Mohammed, internationally-known Iraqi women's rights activist talking about women's situation in Iraq under U.S. occupation.

Monday, October 27, 11am - 1 p.m.

Yanar Mohammed is the founder of the Organization for Women's Freedom in Iraq, the only Iraqi women's group speaking out against both the U.S. occupation and the resurgence of Islamic Fundamentalism that is pushing Iraqi women backwards after decades of modernism.

This program is a fundraiser for WBAI and tapes of Yanar Mohammed's October 23, 2003 speech in NYC will be offered as a premium to listeners who pledge money to support the station. The Joy of Resistance is WBAI's only feminist show. You can support feminist radio remaining on the air by pledging during this timeslot.
