Historical, not moral. Adorno was talking about how Hitler's military stupidity was really just a part of the total stupidity of Fascism -- the fact that the blitzkrieg was doomed from the beginning. The Allies had way too many resources from the start, but Fascism's provincial, reactionary and barbaric elites couldn't see this.
The parallels with the dim, vicious petro-fundamentalists who hijacked Bananamerica in 2000 are frightening. I suppose the saving grace of geopolitics is that Morgul-king Rumsfeld is spiraling to its doom in Pelennor -- er, make that the Tigris-Euphrates valley.
