This shouldn't really come as surprise, I suspect Lott is just articulating what the right have been thinking for the past 4 months since that pesky bunch of ingrate Ay-rabs didn't start bowing, grovelling and pumping oil the minute the US 'won'.

These are people who spent the last year or more dehumanizing Hussein and his entourage specifically, Iraqis in general; playing cards, collateral damage, speculation about using nukes, shock and awe, and so on. Lott's sentiment is a logical extension of the thought processes that brought you this war.

Lott may only be a little less articulate than the rest of the right/war party, but I truly believe he's expressing a pretty common sentiment.

Still appalling though.
