There is an elephant in the room when it comes to these poll results. 
When it comes down to it, on issues like prayer in schools, Christians 
start to diverge--many revert to supporting separation of church and state.

Why?

Because when it comes down to the practical implementation of prayer in 
schools, a warning flag goes up: whose prayer is going to be prayed? The 
one provided by the Baptists? The Presbyterians? Is the prayer going to 
be Lutheran or Jewish? When these practical issues come up, many 
Christians go very atheistic real fast on mixing religion with government.
