Um... that was probably in spite of, rather than because of a mission
education whose political intentions in so far as they were overtly
formulated was in preservation of the superiority of colonial rule
and of the white man.
I guess that "in spite of" is a point in favour of how sometimes, in
some circumstances, experience trumps indoctrination.
