Sorry, no dice. Someone making 9K a year IS dirt poor in the U.S. 
Doesn't matter how that fares relative to Bangladesh. We don't live in 
Bangladesh. And I don't see how it's helpful to tell some wage slave in 
the U.S., who is being worked into the ground...that he's really Bill 
Gates. What a crock.

The issue of U.S. consumption is real enough, but this does not address it.
