[lbo-talk] What Salam Palax thinks of the war/occupation

The Baghdad blogger's pseudonym is actually Salam Pax, not Salam Palax in the subject line. The typo is inadvertently ironic: Salam Pax's first and last hope is peace; in reality, when well educated secular Iraqis like Salam offer peace (Salam), the USuk imperial coalition returns what is marketed as peace (Pax) but isn't the real thing (Palax, which may serve as liberal imperialists' neologism for pacification).

BTW, you can listen to Salam's voice at <http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/today/listenagain/ram/today5_blog_20030909.ram>.

If you were already (or were about to be) deployed in Iraq, you of course would. If you were organizing for or against the foreign occupation of Iraq, you should. In any case, all thinking persons, whatever their political persuasions, already are. -- Yoshie
