<P>E.P. Thompson of blessed memory, my own inspiration as a scholar-activist in my younger days, helped mobilize the campaighn for European Nuclear Disarmamnt by taking off on a UK govt publication, "Protect and Survive" (I still havea&nbsp; copy), with a classic pamphlet, "Protest and Survive." We do not have anyone of his rhetorical power today, but it might do to look at Prorest and Survive and see if there's inspiration for an effort along those lines. jks
