<P>I saw Pearl Jam in Boston last night and Vedder talked up Zinn several times, and later invited some people onstage with a "Zinn for President" sign. It was pretty cool.&nbsp; The band also handled the Iraq thing well: Vedder talked about supporting the troops, but only after&nbsp;mentioning the most recent shootings and talking about the pain experienced by the families of the G.I.s.&nbsp;Very moving.&nbsp;</P>
<P>The band&nbsp;also did&nbsp;a set of political covers, backed by Sleater/Kinney: there was a Ramones song I'd never heard of,&nbsp;followed by The Clash's "Know Your Rights," &nbsp;CCR's "Fortunate Son," and then&nbsp;"Rockin' in the Free World."&nbsp;Total blast; it was their 3rd show in Boston, and looked like a sell out.</P><p><hr SIZE=1>
