Humor, lawyer jokes
www.nolo.com/humor/jokes.cfm
Jokes aside, nolo press is a good place to go for SIMPLE things you might otherwise pay a lawyer for. However, lawyers exist partly because things that seem simple sometimes are NOT.
Now, can anyone imagine a way to offshore lawyering? Perhaps we can all battle ofshoring by becoming lawyers????
True confession: I have on multiple occasions flirted with the idea of becoming a lawyer. I have so far decided not to because I do not think the US needs more lawyers per capita than any other industrialized nation. I have seen lawyers do real good. I have also seem situations where lawyers' established, self-perpetuating ways of doing things kept them from seeing really simple points relevant to the issue at hand.
More distressing sometimes lawyers make a lot of money and wind up not having as much impact for social good as they might. But just now, instead of wandering any further into economic analysis of all this, I am going back to reading jokes.
