LTTE employs students to clean graveyard: Report

Colombo, September 24

Sri Lanka's Tamil Tiger guerrillas asked some 170 students to skip school
and clean a cemetery dedicated to fallen comrades in the northern peninsula
of Jaffna, media reports said on Wednesday.

The incident reportedly took place on Tuesday, and the affected students
were from the Thirunavukkarusu Maha Vidyalaya. The graveyard of "martyrs'
was located at Koddikamam in Jaffna.

The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) was quoted as saying that the
school authorities gave permission to the children to perform the task.
The guerrillas, despite being overwhelmingly Hindu, bury their dead in
exclusive cemeteries.
