<P>I have to say, I've never been so utterly despondent about the political future of this country. I don't see anything that can reverse it. On foreign policy, the Republicans can pretty much bomb their way out of any jam, so that's a no-go for the Dems. The 2000 election pretty much was the most catastrophic election of the century, institutionalizing changes anathema to most of the population, and which don't appear reversible.</P>
<P>On the positive side, I still have a job. So I guess it all balances out:)</P>
