Too cute for words.

Notice how Little Green Footballs also has the same initials as a Leftist, a Green or a Fascist? These assholes seem to think they're "above" that sort of thing, given these comments below:

Mr. Spock wrote:

"few people would mistake David Duke for a "leftist")"

Well, let's see. Duke is a Nazi. Nazi is short for "National Socialist" Socialism by most schemes of political jargon is "leftist" ideology. Nazi = Right is one of the best smears the Left ever came up with. The essence of World War 2 was a couple of murderous radical left-wing street gangs fighting over turf. Their initial truce broke down (Nazi Soviet pact), and at that time, the gang that had the pre-existing ties to the LLL of its day (the Soviets), and the one which did not actually start the war, became an ally.

At that time the left made a big deal about not being "fascist." It was, and is, a smoke screen.

I guess I am one of "a few"

taking apart the Right = Nazi meme on the internet, one brick at a time.

When that meme is retired we will know we have made big progress. Corporate media/academia will a) never allow analysis that "deep" and b) is complicit in the creation of the initial meme.

According to merriam webster, fascism is : a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition

2 : a tendency toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or dictatorial control

The right/fascism meme has been around for a long time. I used to lean to the left, and I used to believe it - but now the left is full of classic knee-jerk reactionaries, Archie Bunkers in Birkenstocks. The right/fascism wall is yet another cold war relic that needs to be torn down.

BTW, Michael: enlighten me. What did posting this have to do with the thread?
