Unless Upstate NY qualifies as the heartland the statements that the "loudest cries for blood came from the heartland" is not supported by this poll unless 90% of the people in Terre Haute voiced their approval. How about "rural conservatives throughout the countries cries for blood" as a more accurate statement? People from more urban areas like Chicago, St. Louis, Cincinnati, Minneapolis which tend to be more strongly Democratic would probably be more along the lines of upper 50's, lower 60's. This brings us back to party affiliation being a better indicator than geographic location.
