It's Highland Park, where cops have long been rumored to harass anyone driving anything too cheap. They're afraid of the lower orders depressing property values. Highland Park is perhaps the richest suburb in Dallas, and does more than anything else to validate the city's reputation for pretension.
But take Preston Rd. south through Highland Park, and you'll slip right into Oak Lawn. Dallas's homo haven, the sodomy stronghold! Woo-hoo!!
