Steve Kyle, an econ prof at Cornell, wrote the following:

"Iraq is just like Viet Nam in this way:

We dont have the will to do whatever it takes to 'win' because that would
mean destroying whole cities and killing tens of thousands. The other side
does have the will to do whatever it takes to get us out. So they will
prevail in the end."
