I saw it the other night. Unfortunately the final "twist" was a little easy to figure out; I pretty much figured out what was going on about halfway through. This is in contrast to "Sixth Sense," which was ingenious because I didn't suspect the premise until the very end, but then it seemed so obvious when it was revealed.
"The Village" was much better than the atrocious "Signs," but I suppose that's not saying much.
Thanks for the heads-up about people not being able to fully appreciate the remake of the Manchurian Candidate if they haven't seen the original. The significant other wants to see it, but hasn't seen the Frank Sinatra version, so I am resistant, and this steels my resolve.
