If you're a UFCW leader, what's going through your head when you try to do something like this? What do you do if you organize ONE Home Depot out of what, thousands across the country? Home Depot probably just told people that they'd shut down the store if they organized the union, which is technically illegal, but why would they care? If the store had gone union, Home Depot probably WOULD have shut the store down. They're big enough that they can afford to do that, especially since it would send quite a message to any other organizing efforts anywhere else.
Wal-Mart would do the same thing. I just don't see how these places could possibly be organized one store at a time. You need to find some other way to get at them. What that is, I don't know.
