guerilla wars in history. US casualties just crashed through the 11,000

Weird as it sounds, rather than dwelling on the multifarious crimes of the
Empire, I've been reading Jose Rizal, who wrote two magnificent books
dealing with the nascent resistance against quite another decaying,
rotting Empire (the Spanish in the Philippines, who would be booted out by
the Americans in 1898 as part of the US Empire's first major overseas
expansion). Empires come and go, but the Resistance is forever!
